Posted October 29th, 2008 by zegerMvixUSA has build the MvixBox, for only $299, excluding drives, you get a nice little home server. Just add two 1.5Tb drives and you can store some of your favorite series in full HD quality. They should have build an expandable version since my 3Tb will have no space left by the end of the year.

A4 e-Paper
Posted October 28th, 2008 by zegerThere are already some e-readers on the market; but they are very small compared to a regular Letter or A4 sized piece of paper. Moreover: there is no color. Samsung found a solution.

NFC based picture frame
Posted October 24th, 2008 by zegerThere seems to be an endless supply of picture frames, some of them are indistinguishable and some of them actually have some features which are quite nice. This frame has NFC options enabling you to transfer an image to the frame just by holding your phone in close proximity (an inch or lees), ain't that sweet.

Cooking without paper
Posted October 21st, 2008 by zegerSo I like to cook. I like the smell of the cookbooks and the spots, fingerprints and stains in it from previous attempts to impress the guests. I have to give up on all that but I consider it a minor drawback since I really like this device.
Note: this could be one of those "I like it for one week and never use it again" gadgets, we'll see, still want one though.

Small, smaller, smallest
Posted October 21st, 2008 by zegerThere is a lower-limit for notebooks. The iKIT just crossed it, however the iKIT should appeal to a young mad-for-texting audience.

"In the meantime, the experiment stands as proof that evolution does not always lead to the best possible outcome. Instead, a chance event can sometimes open evolutionary doors for one population that remain forever closed to other populations with different histories."

Neuromarketing
Posted April 4th, 2008 by zeger"At McLean Hospital, a prestigious psychiatric institution run by Harvard University, an advertising agency recently sponsored an experiment in which the brains of half-a-dozen young whiskey drinkers were scanned. The goal, according to a report in Business Week, was "to gauge the emotional power of various images, including college kids drinking cocktails on spring break, twentysomethings with flasks around a campfire, and older guys at a swanky bar". The results were used to fine-tune an ad campaign for the maker of Jack Daniels."
